FAQ
Before you travel: your questions answered
We have gathered the questions we hear most often, from the booking process and visa paperwork to daily life on tour and cancellation terms. If you can't find what you're looking for, just drop us a line.
Enquiries and Bookings
How can I get information about a tour?
Use the information request button on the page of the tour you are interested in, or fill in the form on our Contact page. Sharing your name, phone number, e-mail address, the tour you like and the number of travellers helps our adviser send you accurate dates and prices quickly. You can also call us on +90 850 000 00 00.
When will you call me back?
Callback requests are handled in the order they arrive during our working hours. If you send a request outside office hours or on a public holiday, we will call you on the next working day. If you mention a convenient time in the message field, we will do our best to call you then.
How far in advance should I book?
Places can fill quickly at busy times such as religious holidays, New Year and the winter school break, and on tours with limited capacity, so we recommend planning as early as you can. For tours that require a visa, allow time for appointments and processing too. Early booking offers may provide better prices until a set date or until the allocation runs out.
How large are the groups?
Group size varies with the route, the type of transport and the season. Your adviser can tell you the expected number of participants for your chosen date and the minimum needed for the tour to go ahead. Individual programmes such as honeymoon packages have no group at all and are arranged just for you.
Prices and Payment
Can I book or pay online through the website?
No. Our website is for information only; there is no online booking, payment or account system. The forms simply let you send an information or callback request. Your booking is confirmed once you have checked availability and price with our adviser and accepted a written package tour contract.
How do I pay once my booking is confirmed?
Payment methods and due dates are set out in writing in the contract and booking documents your adviser sends you. A deposit is usually taken at the time of booking, with the balance due by the date stated in the contract. Only pay Seyra Seyahat ve Turizm directly, using the methods confirmed to you in writing, and never share card details through a form, by e-mail or over the phone.
What does ‘per person in a double room’ mean?
Tour prices are calculated per person, based on two people sharing a room, so the total for two travellers is twice the price shown. If you would like a room to yourself, a single supplement is added; this is shown on the tour page or in your adviser's quote. Triple rooms are not available at every hotel.
Are there reduced prices for children?
Many tours have a separate child price for certain age groups, shown on the tour page. It usually applies when the child shares a room with two adults. Because age limits and conditions depend on hotel and airline rules, your adviser will confirm the exact price based on your child's age.
Visas and Travel Documents
Do you help with visa applications?
For tours that require a visa, we share the document checklist and guide you through preparing your paperwork and the application process. Unless stated otherwise, visa service fees and consular charges are not included in the tour price and are confirmed separately when you apply. Only the relevant consulate can decide whether to grant a visa, so we recommend applying as early as possible.
How long does my passport need to be valid for?
As a general rule, we recommend that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your return date and has blank pages. Some countries set different requirements; for Schengen visa applications, for example, the passport must also have been issued within the last ten years. Your adviser will confirm the current requirements for your tour before departure.
What happens if my visa is refused?
The terms that apply if your visa is refused are set out in your tour contract. Consular fees and visa service charges are non-refundable, whatever the outcome of the application. Once you send us the refusal decision, your adviser will explain what happens next based on your contract and the date you notify us. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for more detail.
Do I need travel health insurance?
Travel health insurance with at least €30,000 of cover is mandatory for Schengen visa applications. Even where it isn't required, medical costs abroad can be high, so we strongly recommend travel health insurance for every trip. The tour page shows whether insurance is included in the price. Bear in mind that travel health insurance does not cover cancellation; separate cancellation insurance is needed for that.
On Tour
Is there a guide throughout the tour?
On our guided tours, a Turkish-speaking guide accompanies the group for the duration of the programme. At some museums and archaeological sites, local rules may also require a licensed local guide. Where a programme runs without a guide, as with honeymoon packages, this is clearly stated on the tour page, and transfers and meet-and-greet services are provided as described.
Are meals included in the price?
Included meals are shown for each tour in the list of inclusions and in the day-by-day itinerary. Unless stated otherwise, drinks with meals are charged separately. If you tell us about dietary preferences, such as a vegetarian menu, when you book, we will do our best to arrange this with hotels and restaurants.
Is there any free time on the programme?
Yes. We design our programmes to leave time for your own discoveries alongside guided visits. Free time is marked in the daily itinerary; your guide can offer suggestions, and you can join optional excursions if you wish. Unless stated otherwise, optional excursions are not included in the tour price.
What is my luggage allowance?
Luggage allowance depends on the airline, the type of flight and the fare class; with some low-cost carriers, only cabin baggage may be included. The allowance for your tour is shown in your booking documents and on your ticket. Coach tours and cruises may also have luggage limits, so we recommend checking with your adviser before you travel.
Changes and Cancellations
What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
Cancellation requests must be made in writing. The charge depends on how many days before departure your request reaches us and on the specific terms of the tour, and it rises as the departure date approaches. You'll find the general framework on our Cancellation & Refund Policy page; the terms that apply to you are set out in your package tour contract.
Can I change the date or the traveller's name?
A date change is possible if there is space on the new date, but it may be treated as a cancellation and a new booking, and a price difference may apply. To transfer your booking to someone else who meets the tour's requirements, you need to tell us a reasonable time before departure. Change fees for personal services such as flight tickets, visas and insurance may be passed on.
What happens if a tour doesn't reach the minimum number of participants?
If the minimum number of participants needed for the tour is not reached, we will let you know within the period stated in your contract. In that case you receive a full refund of the amount paid or, if you prefer, you can switch to another date or tour, subject to availability.
Should I take out cancellation insurance?
We recommend cancellation insurance, especially if you book early or choose a higher-value tour; it usually needs to be arranged at the time of booking. Depending on the policy, it may cover some or all of the cancellation charge if you have to withdraw for unexpected reasons such as sudden illness or the death of a close family member. Please read the policy terms and exclusions carefully before you buy.
