Overview
Belgrade sees in the new year out on its squares, along its riverbanks and around the long tables of its kafanas. Kalemegdan Fortress above the meeting of the Sava and the Danube, bohemian Skadarlija and Zemun, with its Austro-Hungarian past, form the backbone of this short break.
We planned the programme so you can get to know the city without rushing: on the first day we explore Belgrade's historic centre, and on the second we head to Sremski Karlovci, where the Treaty of Karlowitz was signed in 1699, and on to Novi Sad and Petrovaradin Fortress. The Novi Sad day is included; a New Year's Eve gala dinner with live music can be added as an option.
Turkish Airlines flights from Istanbul, a 4★ hotel close to the centre and a Turkish-speaking guide come with every date. Choose late December for the festive atmosphere, or February and April to enjoy the same route at a gentler pace.

Itinerary
Day 1 Istanbul – Belgrade
We meet at Istanbul Airport and fly with Turkish Airlines to Belgrade. On arrival our city tour begins with Republic Square, the statue of Prince Mihailo and pedestrianised Knez Mihailova Street. We end the day at Kalemegdan Fortress, above the confluence of the Sava and the Danube, visiting the Tomb of Damat Ali Pasha and the Pobednik (Victor) monument before checking in to our hotel.
Day 2 Sremski Karlovci – Novi Sad – Petrovaradin
After breakfast we set off for Sremski Karlovci (Karlowitz) at the foot of Fruška Gora. In this baroque town we see the Patriarchate and the Four Lions Fountain, and hear about the Chapel of Peace that now stands where the treaty was signed. In Novi Sad we explore Freedom Square, the Church of the Name of Mary and Zmaj Jovina Street, then take in the city from Petrovaradin Fortress on the opposite bank of the Danube. We return to Belgrade in the late afternoon.
Day 3 Zemun – Church of Saint Sava – Skadarlija
In the morning we cross to Zemun, a border town in Austro-Hungarian times. We climb the cobbled lanes to Gardoš Tower for views over the Danube, then enjoy free time on the riverside promenade. On the way back we visit the Church of Saint Sava, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. The evening is free to explore Skadarlija, a gathering place for artists since the 19th century, and the lively atmosphere of its kafanas.
Day 4 Belgrade – Istanbul
After breakfast we check out of our rooms. Until our flight there is free time for a stroll or some shopping in Dorćol, home to the Bajrakli Mosque, the only mosque still standing in the city. We then transfer to the airport for our flight back to Istanbul.
Accommodation
In Belgrade you stay on a bed-and-breakfast basis at a 4★ hotel with easy access to Knez Mihailova Street and Republic Square. The hotel name is confirmed 7 days before departure.

Visa Information Visa-free
Serbia does not require a visa from Turkish citizens holding ordinary passports for short tourist visits. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the return date and have at least 2 blank pages. As entry rules can change, current requirements are confirmed before departure; guests of other nationalities should inform our advisers before booking.
Important Information
- New Year's Eve falls on day 2 for the 30 December departure and on day 1 for the 31 December departure; the guide may adjust the order of visits accordingly.
- Temperatures in Belgrade can drop below freezing in December and February; we recommend a warm coat, a hat and non-slip shoes.
- Places at the New Year's Eve gala dinner are limited; please book at least 21 days before departure.
- Hotel check-in is usually from 14:00 and check-out by 12:00; on day one, luggage stays on the coach during the city tour.
- The child price (ages 2–12) applies when sharing a room with two adults on an extra bed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which day of the tour is New Year's Eve?
For the 30 December departure, New Year's Eve falls on day 2; for the 31 December departure, it is the day you arrive. On both dates the daytime programme is planned to leave time for the evening celebrations.
Is the New Year's Eve gala dinner compulsory?
No, the gala dinner is optional at €95 per person and covers a set dinner, live music and hotel–venue transfers. Guests who prefer not to join are free to spend the evening out on the city's squares.
Is the programme different in February and April?
The route and inclusions are the same; instead of the gala, an optional dinner with live music in Skadarlija is offered. The city is quieter on these dates and prices are lower.
