Morocco

Morocco is a country where Arab, Amazigh and Andalusian influences blend between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. In the north, Chefchaouen sits at the foot of the Rif Mountains, its blue-washed houses like a painting. Heading south, the road crosses the Atlas Mountains past palm oases, mud-brick kasbahs and UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou to reach the dunes of Merzouga, where you can ride out by camel and spend the night under the stars in a desert camp.

Visa-free entry for Turkish citizens and a food culture that feels familiar make Morocco an easy choice: tagine, couscous and plenty of mint tea at every meal. Haggling is a natural part of shopping in the souks, and guided walks and comfortable shoes make it far easier to find your way around the medinas.
