Overview
South Africa brings together wildlife, dramatic mountain scenery and coastlines shaped by two oceans in a single journey. After landing in Johannesburg we follow the Panorama Route, known for the cliffs of the Blyde River Canyon, to our lodge on the edge of Kruger National Park.
In Kruger we spend a full day on game drives in open safari vehicles with experienced rangers. You have a chance of seeing the "Big Five" – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino; sightings in the wild can never be guaranteed, but giraffe, zebra and herds of antelope are frequent sights in the area.
The second half of the tour is spent in Cape Town. Weather permitting, we ride the cable car up Table Mountain, and on a peninsula tour to the Cape of Good Hope we meet the African penguins of Boulders Beach. On the final full day an optional excursion to the wine estates of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek is available.

Itinerary
Day 1 Istanbul – Johannesburg
We meet at Istanbul Airport in the evening and board our overnight Turkish Airlines flight to Johannesburg. The flight takes about 10 hours, a chance to rest as we head south.
Day 2 Johannesburg – Soweto
We arrive in Johannesburg in the morning and meet our guide. To understand South Africa's recent history, we visit Vilakazi Street in Soweto, where Nelson Mandela once lived, and the Hector Pieterson Memorial. In the afternoon we check in to our hotel and rest after the long flight.
Day 3 Panorama Route – Kruger
We set off early for the green uplands of Mpumalanga. Along the Panorama Route we see the Three Rondavels view over Blyde River Canyon, the water-carved rock pools of Bourke's Luck Potholes and the God's Window viewpoint. In the late afternoon we reach our lodge near Kruger National Park and enjoy dinner in the atmosphere of the bush.
Day 4 Kruger National Park Safari
We enter Kruger National Park in open safari vehicles in the early morning, when the animals are most active. With our experienced rangers we look for herds of elephant, giraffe, zebra and antelope and, with luck, lion or leopard. After a lunch break at a rest camp inside the park we continue our drive in the afternoon, returning to the lodge before the gates close.
Day 5 Kruger – Cape Town
After breakfast we transfer to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport for our domestic flight to Cape Town. In the afternoon we check in to our hotel, and in the evening there is free time at the V&A Waterfront, the harbour district full of restaurants and shops.
Day 6 Table Mountain & Cape Town City Tour
Weather permitting, we take the cable car up to the flat summit of Table Mountain for views over the city, Robben Island and the Atlantic coast. We then visit the colourful houses of Bo-Kaap, the Company's Garden and the Castle of Good Hope. If wind stops the cable car, the visit is moved to one of the following days.
Day 7 Cape Peninsula & Cape of Good Hope
Our full-day peninsula tour begins in Hout Bay and, conditions permitting, along the scenic Chapman's Peak Drive. We visit the Cape of Good Hope and the Cape Point lighthouse within Table Mountain National Park. On the way back we watch the African penguins at Boulders Beach near Simon's Town and pass the colourful beach huts of Muizenberg.
Day 8 Free Day or Winelands Excursion
The day is yours. Those who wish can join an optional excursion to Stellenbosch, with its fine Cape Dutch architecture, and mountain-ringed Franschhoek, including a tasting at a wine estate. Our guide will share restaurant tips for the Waterfront in the evening.
Day 9 Cape Town – Istanbul
After breakfast we transfer to Cape Town Airport. Around midday we depart on our Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul, arriving late at night at the end of our tour.
Accommodation
In Johannesburg and Cape Town you stay in 4★ hotels close to the centre with breakfast, and in the Kruger area at a 4★ lodge with a true safari atmosphere on a full-board basis. Hotel names are confirmed 7 days before departure.

Transport
You fly into Johannesburg and home from Cape Town with Turkish Airlines, with a domestic flight from the Kruger area to Cape Town. Road journeys are by air-conditioned private vehicle and the safari in open safari vehicles.

Visa Information Visa Required
South Africa requires a visa from Turkish citizens holding ordinary passports. Applications are made through the authorised visa application centre; as processing can take several weeks, we recommend applying at least 6 weeks before departure. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the return date and have at least 2 blank pages for the visa and entry stamps. Current requirements are confirmed before departure.

- Wildlife sightings in the park depend on natural conditions; no particular species can be guaranteed.
- The Kruger area is a malaria-risk region; please consult your doctor about preventive measures before travelling.
- The Table Mountain cable car and Chapman's Peak Drive may close due to wind and weather; in that case the order of the programme is changed or an alternative visit is made.
- The Johannesburg – Kruger journey takes around 7–8 hours including the Panorama Route stops.
- South African sockets differ from those in Türkiye (type M/N); please bring an adaptor.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are we guaranteed to see the Big Five?
No – the animals roam freely in their natural habitat, so no sighting can be guaranteed. In Kruger the chances of seeing elephant, giraffe, zebra and antelope are high, and our rangers head for the most promising areas from early morning.
When should I apply for the South Africa visa?
As processing can take several weeks, we recommend applying at least 6 weeks before departure once you have booked. Our adviser will send you the document checklist along with your hotel and flight confirmations.
Which season is best?
As it lies in the southern hemisphere, the seasons are the reverse of Türkiye's. November to March is warm, sunny summer in Cape Town, while on the September departure the dry season in Kruger thins the vegetation, which usually makes wildlife easier to spot.
