Overview
This route brings together three of southern Africa's best-known experiences in a single journey: Cape Town on the Atlantic coast, Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River and Chobe National Park, famed for its elephant herds. Because we use regional flights rather than long road transfers, most of your time is spent exploring.
In Cape Town we ride up Table Mountain and meet the penguins of Boulders Beach on a peninsula tour to the Cape of Good Hope. We then fly to Zimbabwe to explore Mosi-oa-Tunya – "the Smoke that Thunders", better known as Victoria Falls – on a guided walk, followed by a sunset cruise on the Zambezi.
The high point of the tour is a day across the border in Botswana's Chobe National Park: in the morning we watch elephants, hippos and crocodiles from a boat on the river, and in the afternoon we head out on a 4x4 safari across the park's savanna. A night in Johannesburg before the flight home means you start the long journey rested.

Itinerary
Day 1 Istanbul – Cape Town
We meet at Istanbul Airport in the evening and board our overnight Turkish Airlines flight to Cape Town, resting on the long journey to the southern hemisphere.
Day 2 Arrival in Cape Town
On arrival in Cape Town we meet our guide and take a panoramic drive up Signal Hill, with views across the city to Table Mountain. After checking in, the evening is free at the harbourside V&A Waterfront.
Day 3 Table Mountain & Cape Town City Tour
Weather permitting, we take the cable car to the flat summit of Table Mountain for views over the city and the Atlantic coast. We then visit the colourful houses of Bo-Kaap, the Company's Garden and the Castle of Good Hope. If wind stops the cable car, the visit is moved to the following day.
Day 4 Cape Peninsula & Cape of Good Hope
Via Hout Bay and, conditions permitting, the scenic Chapman's Peak Drive, we head for the southern tip of the peninsula. After visiting the Cape of Good Hope and the Cape Point lighthouse in Table Mountain National Park, we watch the African penguins at Boulders Beach near Simon's Town.
Day 5 Cape Town – Victoria Falls
In the morning we transfer to the airport for a regional flight to the town of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. After checking in, we board a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River in the late afternoon, watching hippos and birdlife along the banks with light refreshments.
Day 6 Guided Walk at Victoria Falls
In the morning we take a guided walk in Victoria Falls National Park on the Zimbabwean side, along a rainforest trail nourished by the spray of the falls. From viewpoints such as Devil's Cataract and Main Falls we take in the curtain of water, some 1.7 kilometres wide. The afternoon is free; those who wish can see the falls from above on an optional helicopter flight.
Day 7 Chobe National Park (Botswana)
Early in the morning we cross into Botswana at the Kazungula border and reach Kasane. In the morning a boat safari on the Chobe River brings us close to elephants coming down to drink, hippos and crocodiles; after lunch we set out on a game drive through the park in open 4x4 vehicles. In the late afternoon we cross back to our hotel in Victoria Falls.
Day 8 Victoria Falls – Johannesburg
After breakfast we transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for a regional flight to Johannesburg. In the afternoon we check in to our hotel and spend the evening relaxing or at a farewell dinner in a restaurant recommended by our guide.
Day 9 Johannesburg – Istanbul
After breakfast we transfer to the airport for our Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul, arriving in the evening at the end of our tour.

You stay in a 4★ hotel close to the centre in Cape Town, a 4★ hotel a short distance from the falls in Victoria Falls on half board, and a 4★ hotel near the airport in Johannesburg. Hotel names are confirmed 7 days before departure.

Transport
You fly into Cape Town and home from Johannesburg with Turkish Airlines, with regional flights between countries. Transfers and tours use air-conditioned vehicles, and the Chobe safari uses boats and open 4x4 vehicles.

Visa Information Visa Required
South Africa requires Turkish citizens holding ordinary passports to obtain a visa in advance; as processing can take several weeks, we recommend applying at least 6 weeks before departure. A visa can be obtained on arrival in Zimbabwe, and eligible nationalities can also use the KAZA Univisa, which covers Zimbabwe, Zambia and day trips to Botswana via Kazungula. As you re-enter Zimbabwe after the Chobe day, the visa type is chosen accordingly. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months after the return date and have at least 4 blank pages; current requirements are confirmed before departure.
Important Information
- The Victoria Falls and Chobe areas carry a malaria risk; please consult your doctor about preventive measures before travelling.
- A yellow fever certificate is not required when arriving directly from Türkiye, but may be requested when transiting through an endemic country.
- Wildlife sightings on safari and boat trips depend on natural conditions; no particular species can be guaranteed.
- On the April departure the falls carry a high volume of water, so heavy spray may limit views and you may get wet; on the August departure views are usually clearer.
- Baggage allowances on regional flights may be lower than on the international flights; current rules are shared before departure.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is the best time to see Victoria Falls?
The volume of water is usually at its highest between February and May, which is the most dramatic time but spray can limit views. In dry-season months such as August the views are clearer and wildlife gathers along the Chobe River, making it easier to spot.
Which visas do I need?
You need to obtain the South Africa visa before departure. The Zimbabwe visa can be obtained on arrival; as you re-enter Zimbabwe after the Chobe day, our adviser will recommend the right option (a double-entry visa or the KAZA Univisa). Visa fees are not included in the tour price.
Is the tour physically demanding?
The tour is moderately paced. The Victoria Falls walk takes about 2 hours on level paths that can be wet in places, and safari days involve early starts. Comfortable shoes, a rain jacket and sun protection are recommended.
